Why Twenty-One?

Why twenty-one? Why is this number continually being brought to my attention? It must be important, so I have responded by searching out what the Lord would have me to know. As I share what I've learned so far, if you have any further insight, please share it with me. Twenty-one has been my favorite number since I was in the fifth grade, and maybe earlier than that. I like it even more the more I learn! With this study, my excitement grows in anticipation for April's events. Baruch haba b'shem Adonai. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!

About two years ago, my attention came to bear on an interesting feature. I had long been aware that the 21st of the month was appointed for the resurrection I call the Bride Theft. I noted also that the designated year was 2001. I was prompted to consider these similar numbers as a series and filled in the central number according to the pattern: 21, 201, 2001. I immediately wondered if the 201 might be the number of the day of the year of the 21st day of the seventh month - and after counting from Rosh HaShanah discovered that it was indeed just that! It was apparent that the Lord inspired this quest and that there was more to be learned from the puzzle being presented.

With the study of the meaning of numbers, the meanings of a number's factors and the meanings of the numbers it is a factor of are important to observe. Twenty-one factors to 3x7, very prominent numbers in the Bible. Three signifies resurrection and seven marks the fundamental "arbitrarily" (that does not seem to relate to astronomical measures) assigned cycling time unit - the week. I think the number seven bears the meaning of a complete cycle of time. Twenty-one, as the product of three times seven seems to represent time itself, "resurrection time," and "resurrected time." ( eternity, or, timeless) I'll present evidence of this through theomatics (like gematria) and we will note that this number also signifies the eternal God and those on his right hand who bear His name. Resurrection time is the aspect that draws my attention and prompted this study.

I don't know how many themes there are or how they might be ranked, but these are the ones that caught my attention from perusing Del's book. I think Time / Eternity is the big one, the dimension or dimensions that encompass time and whatever it is in which fixed dimensions are animated where time may no longer be applicable.

A year or so ago, when there was some interest in the number 21 expressed on the Five Doves site. John Tng's assessment is on this page. He believes that 21 is the number that represents the Bride! There was a vision Eddie Tan from Malaysia had that he shared on the Five Doves site. He was shown 'YESHUA 21.' Another letter shared on the Five Doves site where, on Jan. 25 1999, Valerie Skrzyniak was simply shown a sky blue number 21 in a vision while she was wide awake. It was discussed among the site visitors and there was agreement that it related to 'the rapture.' The woman who had the vision of the sky blue number 21 read the Why Twenty-One? page I recently posted and replied back to me. Here's our correspondence.

The sky and the color blue are easily recognized symbols of heaven - and this is most certainly the meaning of sky blue. The number 21 was linked to a calendar date. Speaking with a friend (who is passionately in love with the Lord) today on the phone, she told me that yesterday she was in very close relationship with the Lord all day and that "blue sky" was pointedly brought to her attention through song lyrics all throughout the day. When I shared about the "sky blue 21" we agreed in believing that the Lord was speaking in this sky blue 21 code about the upcoming Bride Theft. We had been discussing my findings about 21 shared on this page and about the revelation opening up more clearly in the Song of Songs about the resurrections. Later in the day, my wife told me she was speaking with a woman in a store today. This woman's daughter was married and she was exclaiming about her new name. You see, her daughter is named Sky. Sky Blue. True story! She married a man with the last name of Walker, so the funny thing the mother of the bride was talking about was that her name is now Sky Walker. (which you may readily associate with Star Wars and the main character Luke Skywalker) What we found interesting is that the Bride is now Sky Blue Walker, or, a "heaven walker" since the wedding.
Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; obey it, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you. 4 Yet you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes. They will walk with me, dressed in white, for they are worthy. 5 He who overcomes will, like them, be dressed in white. I'm not making any of this up - this is absolutely for real! These kinds of amazing "coincidences" have marked the last several weeks. Not only that, but the Maiden name was Bauer - sounding like - bower. The German word bauer means farmer. The Bride is a laborer in the Lord's harvest field and vineyard. I had learned that a while back when I was researching the meaning of it in the context of the card game called Euchre I grew up playing, but had forgotten.
The hardworking farmer should be the first to receive a share of the crops. 7 Reflect on what I am saying, for the Lord will give you insight into all this. 8 Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David. This is my gospel, 9 for which I am suffering even to the point of being chained like a criminal. The Bride of Christ is chosen because she is a "bow-er," one who bows, a submissive servant and worshiper, right? Here's what the American Heritage Dictionary has for bower. You may find much of it relevent to the Bride of Christ. I do!

The meanings of a shaded leafy recess, a booth, dwelling, dwelling space and hut recalls a sukkot. Other notable meanings are bondage, bound, husband, to live, to prepare, to make oneself ready. Did you notice the meaning of "I am," that is the "name" of God that has the theomatic value of 21. Oh yes, we ARE excited!

According to Don Kistler, who penned the "Arithmetic of God" book notes that the meaning of 21 is "the exceeding sinfulness of sin." This is interesting in light of the requirement of the fullness of time to accomplish the end to sin, etc. revealed in the following verse.
Seventy `sevens' are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy.  Daniel 9:24

But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia.  Daniel 10:13
I always wondered why it was for 21 days that the angel was delayed in coming to Daniel. I believe it was the full limit set for such a thing.

The third number in the series 21 201 2001 is the year reckoned as the third day or watch of the night. Did you note that the feature: twenty-first day of the seventh month in the third year, relates to 21 = 3 x 7? Another item relating to 21 are that the judgments described in Revelation are described in 21 parts, 7 seals, 7 trumpets and 7 vials. From a book called The Seventh Circle in Bible Prophecy (by Wayne L. Atchison) these may be diagrammed geometrically by an arrangement of circles. Three levels of circles with seven smaller circles inside each circle at each level. Wayne shows that is helpful to use this same diagram for counting time. (An example of Marilyn Agee's insight into this seven circles diagram's usefulness may be seen on this page.) I find it interesting that a form of the three level diagram depicts 666, then on the next increment counts 777, the number for the cross. (p. 336) The cross is key because it is the willingness to take up the cross that characterizes the Bride. These 21 judgments that are the subject of Revelation's sealed scroll are shown by Daniel R. Walsh (Prophecy and the Comet) to absolutely equate to the astronomical event and heavenly sign from 1994 when the comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 broke up and the 21/22 fragments were observed crashing into the planet Jupiter.

John, the Bible book writer that is a type of the 144k of Israel wrote a gospel book and the book of Revelation, as well as three epistles. It is the twenty-first chapter of John's Gospel that is devoted to the presentation of Jesus' third appearance to his disciples after he was raised from the dead - revealing an intricate prophetic revelation of the interaction between the Bride and the 144k at the time of the Bride Theft. It is the twenty-first chapter of Revelation that describes the new Jerusalem, the Bride

In Haggai 2:1 (On the twenty-first day of the seventh month, the word of the LORD came through the prophet Haggai:) the chapter detailing wondrous truths about the commissioning of the 144k is introduced. The Bride Theft is an implicit subject here. The 21 theme definitely applies like as with Moses at the burning bush. Interesting note: the chapter and verse is 2:1 like 21. The twenty-first verse of the book of Haggai is 2:6: "This is what the LORD Almighty says: `In a little while I will once more shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land. This refers to a resurrection!

Joel 2:1 is the twenty-first verse of Joel. It reads: Blow the trumpet in Zion; sound the alarm on my holy hill. Let all who live in the land tremble, for the day of the LORD is coming. It is close at hand--

In the Song of Songs, the 21st verse is 2:4: He has taken me to the banquet hall, and his banner over me is love.

The twenty-first letter of the Hebrew alphabet is SHIN. It has been observed that every human heart has the image of a perfect SHIN on it. An x-ray reveals the perfect outline of the major artieries in the shape of this Hebrew letter! (Thanks, JW)

JR Church and Gary Stearman wrote about the menorah and Hebrew alphabet structures in the Bible a few years ago. (Titled: The Mystery of the Menorah...and the Hebrew Alphabet) He associates certain structural elements of the Bible with the letters. The SHIN elements he notes are Revelation chapter 21, the whole book of Daniel, the whole book of 1 Peter. Hebrew sages note that SHIN represents Shaddai and Shalom. I'm going to quote a section from p. 161 of the aforementioned book from the section on Revelation 21.
The SHIN is engraved on the Mezuza - a small container of Scripture found on the doors of every Jewish home, representing God's protection for those who live there. It is appropriate, therefore, that this chapter is devoted to the arrival of the New Jerusalem - our eternal home. Furthermore, the city has twelve gates engraved with the names of the twelve gates engraved with the names of the twelve tribes of Israel. Perhaps they are engraved on heavenly Mezuzas! Since the SHIN corresponds to this chapter, one might speculate that those twelve gates each have a Mezuza! Why not? After all, this is the city of Shaddai!
JR also notes that this is the New Jerusalem, Jerusalem meaning city of peace. (SHIN) He also said the statement I have below in bold type was the key statement for the theme of the epistle.
I Peter 4:12-13: Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. 13 But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.

Verse 21 of that SHIN-associated book is I Peter 1:21: Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God. ... to raise also you from the dead and glorify you! - by inference from extending the structure.

The SHIN also appears on both sides of the Tefilin. (prayer boxes worn during weekday morning worship - like phylacteries) From The Mystical Significance of the Hebrew Letters SHIN - The Eternal Flame "The letter shin appears engraved on both sides of the head- tefilin. On the right side, the shin possesses three heads, while on the left side it possesses four heads. In Kabbalah we are taught that the three-headed shin is the shin of this world while the four- headed shin is the shin of the World to Come."

According to an Infinity Code kind of principle I have noted, where the meaning of a number is evident in the Bible's chapter with that count. The twenty-first chapter of the Bible is Genesis 21. Look there for the themes noted in this study like the righteous remnant seed, a bush, Sarah, Hagar, (See Galatians 4) the getting of a bride, multiple wells of water, where the bride comes for living water to quench her thirst and the thirst of others.

This letter SHIN has the numeric value of 300. This is the resurrection number, amplified. A brief study of this associated number is relevant to this study of 21. If you are a student who has eyes that see clearly, you may want to explore the connections between the three hundred foxes prophetic scenario of Judges 15:4, Song of Songs 2:15 (Catch for us the foxes, the little foxes that ruin the vineyards, our vineyards that are in bloom.) and Luke 13:32 (He replied, "Go tell that fox, `I will drive out demons and heal people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach my goal.') Note: The fox Jesus referred to was Herod - the type of the lawless one.

When Enoch had lived 65 years, he became the father of Methuselah. 22 And after he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked with God 300 years and had other sons and daughters. 23 Altogether, Enoch lived 365 years. 24 Enoch walked with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.

Genesis 45:22: (From the Bride Theft and 144k commission account) To each of them he gave new clothing, but to Benjamin he gave three hundred shekels of silver and five sets of clothes.

Judges 7:7 and 13: (The Lord saves His people, routing their enemies with three hundred men, a barley loaf company.) The LORD said to Gideon, 'With the three hundred men that lapped I will save you and give the Midianites into your hands. Let all the other men go, each to his own place.'
13 Gideon arrived just as a man was telling a friend his dream. 'I had a dream,' he was saying. 'A round loaf of barley bread came tumbling into the Midianite camp. It struck the tent with such force that the tent overturned and collapsed.'

This interesting collection of associations is the kind of thing I've found repeatedly in my studies as the Lord shows me the tapestry of truth woven into His creation. Twenty-one is a significant number being used by God to alert us to an important time in His appointment book. Isn't this appropriate for a study kicking off the twenty-first century? His Word is awesome! He is worthy of praise!
